The Pregnancy Resource Centre is a private, non-profit charity. We are multi-denominational in scope and supported primarily by churches, individuals, local businesses, corporations and the fund-raising efforts of the Centre staff and volunteers. We are an outreach ministry of the Christian church to women in crisis pregnancies, providing information on alternative options other than abortion. We accomplish this task by providing pregnancy tests, emotional, physical, spiritual and material support as well as peer counseling. These services are given free of charge to our clients.
We understand the many difficulties facing young, pregnant women in need and we are prepared to help these women in life affirming alternatives. It is our position that every abortion claims an innocent human life. We also explain why "safe-sex" outside marriage is a myth and a lie, and teach that abstinence before marriage is the only 100% safe, effective method of birth control.
Through our abstinence program, we reach hundreds of teenagers in both church settings and schools. With the ever-increasing number of AIDS cases, sexually transmitted diseases and abortions, it is of extreme importance that we give our young people a clear message on sexuality. We teach them that their only hope for a future free from the worry of an unplanned pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted disease is abstinence.
